About Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a learning difference that makes reading, spelling and writing harder than usual, even when a young person is bright and hardworking.
Children with dyslexia often find it tricky to hear and work with sounds in words, remember sequences or organise information.
Dyslexia can vary in severity and may affect each child differently. It can also impact other skills, such as reading comprehension, maths or learning another language.
Many children with dyslexia may also experience other learning or developmental differences, such as ADHD, developmental language difficulties or coordination challenges.
Dyslexia can run in families, but with understanding, support, and the right strategies, dyslexic children can learn, grow and thrive.
